What it does

3D Slash builds 3D forms by removing and rebuilding cubes. Browser and desktop versions support imported geometry, colour-based selection and projected pictures or text, with access limits set by the plan. Free browser use is non-commercial; subscriptions add finer editing or shared-folder controls.

The hammer and rebuilding tools change a form by small blocks. STL or OBJ files can supply a starting shape or be inserted into an existing model. Copy, move, resize, flip and combine controls arrange the pieces. Pictures or text can guide engraving or supply a surface decal; colour selection lets parts of the object be edited together.

Plan Access and features
Free Browser accounts have seven cube sizes and eight standard colours; save online and export STL or OBJ through a download queue
Premium Subscription; adds finer cube sizes, unrestricted colour choices and folders
School Subscription; manages contributor accounts and shared folders
Professional Subscription; manages contributor accounts and shared folders

The desktop app can work offline and synchronise after it is associated with an account, but its free compatibility trial cannot save work or export STL. Classroom and gallery policies control who can see or add work on School and Professional plans.

Free and ordinary Premium access are for non-commercial use. The terms permit School/Professional users to use their own eligible content commercially, excluding content placed under CC BY-NC-SA. Sharing matters: free-account content is covered by that non-commercial licence, while Premium users can keep content confidential unless they publish or publicly share it.

Strengths

  • Imported STL/OBJ geometry and projected imagery can guide cube-based changes.
  • Colour selection and shared folders support separate editing and team organisation.

Watch out for

  • Free browser access limits cube sizes and colours and queues exports.
  • The free desktop trial cannot save work or export STL.
  • Free and ordinary Premium access do not permit commercial use.

Best for

  • Block-based form and lettering studies
  • Classroom projects using shared models and contributor accounts
