What it does
Academic Positions lists university and research-institution opportunities, including doctoral, postdoctoral and faculty roles. Its settings distinguish the interface language from the languages of job advertisements, with field, position and geographic filters.
Set the language of the job adverts deliberately. Academic Positions separates that preference from the language used for buttons and menus, so changing the interface does not have to remove adverts you are able to read. This is useful for a researcher comparing several European markets.
Then combine the field with the position type, such as PhD, postdoc or tenure-track work. Employer and country browsing offer other ways to form a shortlist. Alerts can target particular employers, fields and subfields, positions and languages, with a chosen frequency. A profile-to-job comparison is another aid, but the actual research and qualification requirements remain in the institution’s announcement. Use the settings to improve discovery rather than narrow the search accidentally.
