What it does
AccountEdge provides accounting for Mac and Windows, including a general ledger, invoicing, inventory and time billing. Transaction lines can be allocated to departments and jobs for reporting.
One supplier bill may cover several departments or jobs. AccountEdge can split a transaction line between them by amount or percentage, then compare job spending with a budget. Its chart of accounts can begin with an industry template or one supplied by your accountant. The same application handles invoicing, inventory and time billing.
Choose the edition around how people will share the company file:
| Edition | Published USD price | Working arrangement |
|---|---|---|
| Pro | $20 per month | One user on a Mac or Windows computer |
| Network | $30 per month | Two users with simultaneous company-file access |
| Hosted | $50 per user per month | Browser access to hosted AccountEdge |
Each plan includes ten company files. Payroll, bank feeds, telephone support and additional workstations have separate charges; bank feeds alone add USD 5 per month. Those extras matter when comparing the desktop subscription with a hosted accounting service.
AccountEdge suits a small business that wants departmental or job costs inside its accounting records. If you cancel, the software becomes read-only: you can still consult reports, but cannot add new transactions.
