What it does

AdaLite is an independent Cardano wallet interface maintained by Vacuumlabs. It runs in the browser without downloading a full node and supports hardware-wallet access, including Ledger, Trezor and BitBox02. Wallet access uses the chosen device or existing credentials rather than a recoverable website account.

AdaLite provides a browser route to a Cardano wallet. Its repository identifies adalite.io as the valid domain and makes clear that the product is independent of the Cardano Foundation, Emurgo and IOHK.

For a hardware-wallet connection, keep the private signing keys on the device. The Ledger guide starts by opening the device's Cardano app, then choosing Hardware wallet in AdaLite and Unlock with Ledger. Close Ledger Live first if it is using the device. When the browser offers a device selector, choose the intended device and approve the public-key export on the hardware wallet. AdaLite then loads the balance and transaction history.

The repository also supports local builds for people who want to inspect or run the interface themselves. A local interface still needs blockchain data from its backend; being able to open the page is not the same as having an independently validating Cardano node.

Recovery belongs to the wallet

The FAQ describes mnemonic and encrypted-JSON access as alternatives to hardware access. It says the provider does not keep a recoverable copy of wallet secrets. Losing the required recovery material therefore cannot be fixed with an email password reset.

Hardware model, firmware and wallet-account compatibility matter when moving between interfaces. AdaLite's FAQ explicitly flags some information as potentially outdated, so check the current device guide before relying on its older compatibility examples or transaction-size estimates.

Cardano network fees apply to transfers. Review the fee displayed for the actual transaction; older ADA amounts in the FAQ should not be treated as a current fixed price.

Strengths

  • Hardware-wallet access loads balances and history while signing stays on the device.
  • The repository includes instructions for running the interface locally.

Watch out for

  • Lost wallet recovery credentials cannot be reset by the provider.
  • Parts of the official FAQ are explicitly marked as potentially outdated.

Best for

  • Cardano hardware-wallet users looking for a browser interface
  • Technical users inspecting or running an independent Cardano wallet frontend
