What it does
AdGuard Ad Blocker is a client-side filtering product with advertising, tracker and dangerous-site controls, including a Windows desktop application.
AdGuard's Windows application filters advertising and unwanted web content beyond a browser extension's scope. Its HTTPS-filtering description says the app installs a unique root certificate, inspects decrypted connections on the device and re-encrypts them toward the server. That local certificate trust is a meaningful installation decision, especially on a managed computer. Choose the intended applications and exceptions rather than treating it like DNS blocking. The desktop page offers a fourteen-day trial; other AdGuard extensions and network products have different access models.
Strengths
- Local client-side web filtering
