What it does

Adobe Media Encoder ingests, transcodes, creates proxies, and publishes media outputs. It integrates with Premiere Pro and After Effects and supports presets and watched folders.

Queue media files, Premiere sequences or After Effects compositions, apply presets/custom settings and start encoding manually or automatically. Proxy and delivery presets serve different production stages; LUT and loudness adjustments can be included. Watch Folders apply assigned presets to arrivals. In/Out points restrict Transcode, while Copy takes the full source. Stitched clips inherit the first clip’s frame properties and cannot have source durations changed after assembly, so prepare ordering and trims first.

Strengths

  • Connects batch transcoding and proxy creation to Adobe editing workflows.

Best for

  • Editors producing repeated proxies and delivery versions
