What it does

AdvisorEngine CRM organizes client relationships and operational work for financial advisory firms. Action templates define individual tasks and multi-step workflows attached to client records. Subscriptions include all features, require at least three users and are billed annually.

Create an AdvisorEngine workflow template in Workflow Setup with Add New Template. Give it a category, name and maintenance owner. Keep its status Being Edited while drafting; only Active templates appear in Add Action. Add Existing can reuse another template or start from a Blank Action.

For a client record, Tools > Add Workflow starts the selected template. Adding it to several records creates separate copies, so later edits to an individual action must be repeated on each copy.

Two details deserve attention before automating the process. Automatically triggered templates need an actual user or employee position in every Assigned to field, rather than Employee Creating Action. Conditional paths also require a person's choice: templates do not automatically select one branch. Use a separate template for each outcome path, then add the appropriate related workflow at the decision point.

Firm access

The subscription is priced per user per month, billed annually, with a minimum of three users. All features, priority support and unlimited document storage are included. Schedule a demo with one of the firm's actual multi-step processes so the team can review assignments and decision points before rollout.

Strengths

  • Templates can be drafted without appearing in the Add Action menu
  • Workflow copies can be started across selected client records

Watch out for

  • Conditional workflow paths require manual selection rather than automatic branching
  • Subscriptions have a three-user minimum and annual billing

Best for

  • Advisory operations teams standardizing client tasks and workflow ownership
