What it does

Adyen provides enterprise payment acceptance, payouts and embedded financial products across online and in-person channels. Retailers can connect their checkout systems, while payment links offer a way to collect individual orders from the Customer Area. A live merchant account requires business verification, and payment processing is charged per transaction.

Use Adyen's payment-method explorer and pricing table to identify the methods needed for a target market before planning a checkout. Its published model combines a processing fee with a method-dependent fee. Other products are priced separately, so an acceptance quote does not cover a complete embedded-finance setup.

Adyen has no standard setup, integration, closure or monthly fee for payment acceptance, but a minimum invoice can apply according to the industry or business model. Some card arrangements use interchange++ pricing: the card issuer's interchange charge, card-scheme fees and processing charges remain separate parts of the bill. Multiple payout bank accounts can be linked for different currencies.

An order collected by payment link

A staff member with the Pay by Link Interface role can open Payments > Payment links > Create payment link in the merchant's Customer Area. Enter the order reference, amount, currency and shopper country, then copy and send the resulting link. The shopper country affects the payment methods offered. These Customer Area links do not support buy now, pay later methods.

Links are single-use by default. You can choose a reusable link, set its expiry and customize the page's theme. Adyen keeps link details for three months. Completed payments appear in Payments > Payment list; accounts using manual capture still need to capture an authorized payment.

Before a first live link, add the merchant's terms URL in Payments > Payment link settings. The live-account application checks the company, its owners and its bank account. Country-specific company forms are listed for markets including Slovenia, the UK and the US; this is an application process, not automatic acceptance. Prepare company registration details, bank-account proof and identification for the contract signer and relevant owners.
