What it does
Aegisub creates and edits subtitles, with timing-to-audio tools, styling and real-time video preview.
The preview is useful when line timing and screen appearance must be judged together. Prepare the timing against the dialogue, then refine placement and style while watching the corresponding frames. The project is free and open source, with separate documentation for the subtitle workflow.
