What it does

Agisoft Metashape reconstructs 3D data from photographs. Standard covers model generation and texturing, while Professional adds georeferencing, elevation models and point-cloud classification for survey work. Both are paid desktop editions with a 30-day full-function trial.

Metashape's editions separate an object reconstruction from a larger survey workflow. Standard processes camera images into dense point clouds and textured models. Professional adds ground-control points, scale bars, georeferenced image mosaics and tools to measure distances, areas and volumes.

Professional also supports Python and Java automation. Those interfaces let a technical team add processing operations or connect Metashape to an existing production pipeline.

Try the correct mode

Download the Windows, macOS or Linux installer for the intended edition. The activation dialog can start a 30-day trial with full functions. The separate demo mode blocks saving and exporting, so it cannot produce a usable model file.

The online store lists node-locked Standard at US$179 and Professional at US$3,499. These ordinary licences are not time-limited. A node-locked licence activates one computer at a time and can be moved to another. Floating licences share concurrent seats through a licence server and are available only for Professional. Educational licences have the same software features but prohibit commercial use.

Strengths

  • Standard includes panorama stitching as well as model reconstruction.
  • Professional combines photogrammetry with laser-scan and survey data.

Watch out for

  • Demo mode cannot save or export results.
  • Educational licences exclude commercial use; floating licences require Professional.

Best for

  • Creating textured models from object photographs
  • Survey teams needing measured or georeferenced outputs
