What it does
AJ Bell offers UK investment accounts, pensions and research across shares, funds, ETFs, trusts and fixed-income investments. Its catalogue separates investment types from the account used to hold them. Regular investing, portfolio views and downloadable account documents support ongoing management.
Start with the account’s purpose, then explore the relevant investment catalogue. AJ Bell separates general dealing, ISAs and pensions, with research organized into shares, funds, ETFs, trusts and bonds. International dealing and new-issue information are also available. Top buys and sells shows customer activity, which is different from an assessment of a company’s finances.
The account navigation includes Buy and sell, with searches by name, ticker or SEDOL identifier. Active orders shows upcoming investments; Regular investments is the route for monthly purchases. Cash statement and Documents provide downloadable records for keeping track of the account.
For the Dealing account, the annual share-holding charge is 0.25%, capped at £3.50 per month. Fund holdings use tiered rates: 0.25% on the first £250,000, 0.10% on the next £250,000 and zero above that. Online share deals cost £5, or £3.50 after at least ten share deals in the preceding month; fund deals cost £1.50. Monthly purchases of selected investments have no dealing charge. Fund expenses, taxes and foreign-exchange costs remain separate.
The standard individual application requires age 18 or over, UK residence, a National Insurance number and bank details. Funding starts with a £25 Direct Debit, £250 single payment or an account transfer. Joint, child-designated and other arrangements use separate forms; Crown employees and certain family members have residence exceptions.
