What it does
akg-images licenses cultural and historical imagery from institutions, artists and private collections. Subjects range from archaeology and fine art to photography, maps and natural history.
The agency’s collection features and anniversary previews offer starting points for historical and cultural research. Complimentary picture research is available through its London team, including help with a particular subject or publication brief.
Existing customers returning after the website’s June 2025 upgrade are directed to Reset in the login menu. After setting a new password, previous orders and saved image choices are available under My Selections. This gives returning editors a way to recover earlier candidates and purchase records.
