What it does

Aladin Sky Atlas visualizes astronomical images and surveys, superimposes catalog entries and connects the field with related archival information.

Aladin Desktop helps compare a sky field with survey images and catalog entries, including linked Simbad and VizieR information. When you need a figure, its scripting manual documents saving the current view with image and overlays to formats such as PNG or JPEG. In multi-view mode that command saves only the selected view. It can also produce an associated table of overlay source coordinates and links for a clickable map. These export instructions apply to Desktop. Aladin Lite provides a browser and WebGL route intended for simpler sky-region viewing.
