What it does
alex checks plain text and Markdown for potentially insensitive or unequal language and suggests alternatives.
Run alex against text and inspect the located warnings in context. Markdown, MDX, HTML and plain-text interfaces support different source types; directory discovery and ignore files determine what the CLI checks. Configuration can allow or deny specific rules, while Markdown comments can ignore a paragraph or disable and re-enable later warnings. The project explicitly acknowledges false positives. Its suggestions need a writer's decision about the intended meaning, and the ESM library's Node requirement is separate from support for every current editor integration.
Strengths
- Suggestions include their position in the file
- Plain-text and Markdown input
