What it does

ALF-BanCo combines supported bank accounts, PayPal records, cards and offline accounts in one Windows application. Free Basis handles one account; paid editions add multiple-account management and more payment tools. Licenses are bought per major version, with updates within that version included.

An offline account can record cash or another balance that is not retrieved from a bank. In Profi, saved transactions feed longer-term reports, and budgets compare planned amounts with actual activity. Imports and exports include CSV, QIF, OFX and bank-statement formats.

For payment preparation, Profi can read details from PDF files, images, QR codes or copied text. Optional phone apps provide another capture route. Review the recognized recipient and amount before sending the payment. Version 10’s paid editions also compare a new individual payment with payments sent in the previous 30 days and warn about a possible duplicate.

Editions and purchase prices

Edition Price Main boundary
Basis Free One account and basic banking functions
Spezial €29.90 once Multiple accounts and users
Profi €44.90 once Payment-data capture, planning and added analysis
Business €99.90 once Business and club workflows, with one network seat

Prices include VAT. Extra Business network seats cost separately. Profi and Business also have USB-installation versions, and the business banking protocol EBICS is an additional module.

Trying and registering

The full installer lets you switch between editions during a 60-day trial. After that, register the edition you want to keep using; Basis remains free. The USB installer has its own 60-day trial.

Bank connectivity depends on the institution and its authentication method. An older purchased version can become less useful when a bank changes its security requirements, even though you still own the software.

Strengths

  • Connected and offline accounts support a combined financial record
  • Profi reads payment details from documents and images
  • Paid editions warn about payments matching the previous 30 days

Watch out for

  • Free Basis is limited to one account
  • Extra Business network seats and EBICS cost separately
  • Bank security changes can limit older software versions

Best for

  • Windows users managing several supported banking relationships
  • People preparing payments from invoices or other documents
