What it does
AliasVault is an open-source password and email-alias manager with password/passkey storage, offline editing and hosted or self-hosted deployment.
AliasVault links a site's login with the alternative identity and email address used for that account. Its built-in alias workflow is useful when a person wants to keep account records and their associated contact details together. The official page describes offline viewing and editing in supported clients, with synchronization after reconnection.
Decide between the hosted service and self-hosting before using the built-in mail functionality. Running that infrastructure yourself adds operational responsibilities beyond keeping an ordinary password database.
Strengths
- Credentials and account aliases in one vault workflow
- Offline editing and self-hosting options
