What it does
Alma gives merchants installment and deferred-payment options for online and physical sales. Store staff can send a payment link from a browser without installing another payment terminal. The French standard offer charges per transaction and has no setup or monthly subscription fee.
Take an installment payment in a shop
Sign in to Alma's POS dashboard on a computer or tablet, enter the sale and the customer's details, then send the link by text or email. The customer enters card details and pays the first installment. Later installments are collected automatically. A customer can complete the payment on their phone or on the shop's device.
Each physical store needs its own Alma account, although a business can have a combined view of its stores. Integrating Alma into an existing payment terminal is a separate option that depends on the terminal setup and Alma's technical team.
French transaction pricing
The published standard offer covers businesses up to EUR 1 million in turnover. Its two-installment option costs 3.60% excluding tax when the merchant bears the fee. Above EUR 1 million, Alma offers a negotiated arrangement. Rates can change with assessed risk, and American Express or business cards incur an increase.
Longer financing is subject to eligibility and a waiting list. The pricing page makes payment in 5 to 12 installments conditional on already offering payment in 2, 3 or 4 installments.
