What it does

AlphaSense brings company filings, broker research, expert transcripts, news and financial data into a research workspace. Users can search for source documents or ask questions that produce a generated summary with citations. Its enterprise offering can also search internal content, while Excel and PowerPoint add-ins carry research into models and presentations.

AlphaSense suits professional teams that need to compare different kinds of company and market information. An earnings filing, a broker report and an expert interview answer different questions, so where a finding came from matters as much as its summary.

Choose the search around the task

Use Document Search when you need a precise figure, a particular document set or continuing email updates. It combines company and keyword queries. Generative Search is better suited to a broad question that needs an initial synthesis. Follow the citations before bringing a generated conclusion into a model or presentation.

The Excel add-in can bring financial information and comparisons into a workbook and help edit a model. The PowerPoint add-in lets you query content and populate or revise slides with cited material. Those are useful routes for keeping an output connected to its underlying research.

Content access and cost

AlphaSense sells annual subscriptions, with per-seat and organisation-wide arrangements quoted by its sales team. Market Intelligence covers external research sources; Enterprise Intelligence adds internal-content search and enterprise services. A customised free trial is available, but it is a trial of the paid platform.

Generative features consume an organisation's contracted AI credits. Account administrators can inspect the Credit Usage dashboard, choose a date range, sort users by consumption and export the table. The projected-usage chart helps show whether the allocation may run out before renewal. Content access, internal-document requirements and AI capacity should all be included in the subscription discussion.
