What it does
Alterna Savings provides digital account records, bill payments, cheque deposits and transfers for its members. Scheduled Interac e-Transfers and pending transfers have separate controls. Chequing packages include free options for young people and post-secondary students.
Follow up on a pending e-Transfer
Open Pay & Transfer, then View Pending e-Transfers. The list distinguishes sent money from requests and shows the transfer’s status. Re-notify sends another email or text; it does not create a new payment.
To cancel an outstanding transfer, choose Cancel and review the transaction details. Continue confirms cancellation and notifies the contact. Choosing Cancel on that confirmation screen abandons the cancellation, leaving the transfer pending.
Scheduled e-Transfers can be viewed, edited or deleted separately. The account tools also include nicknames, favourites, transaction history and a list of devices used for digital access.

Basic is free from age 60 or with a $1,000 minimum balance. Senior prices for Value and Unlimited are $5 and $7. Pay-as-you-go and excess package transactions generally cost $1.20 each, including bills, debit purchases and sent e-Transfers; receiving an e-Transfer is free.
Membership and first login
Ontario residents can join with a C$15 membership share. For digital registration, choose Register to login, then Start Now. Enter your member account number, receive a code using the phone or email already on file, set a password and accept the access agreement. Incorrect contact details require help from the contact centre because that screen cannot change them.

Watch out for
- Transfers above a package allowance incur per-use charges
- Incorrect registration contact details cannot be fixed on the verification screen
