What it does
DiffDog compares and merges text, XML, JSON and Word documents, with directory and data comparison workflows.
For a text-file comparison in DiffDog, place two or three versions side by side and inspect the highlighted differences. Edit either side or merge changes in either direction; the comparison updates as the text changes. Automatic backups can reload the originals, and undo covers the editing session. Export differences as text, XML or HTML when the comparison needs a separate report. FTP, HTTP and network inputs require access privileges, and externally changed files can be reloaded.
Strengths
- Text and structured-format comparison
- Bidirectional merging and direct editing
Watch out for
- The documented Word comparison workflow requires Microsoft Word
Best for
