What it does
Altova MapForce is a graphical data-mapping tool for formats including XML, JSON, databases, text, spreadsheets, EDI, and Protocol Buffers. It supports transformations, filters, functions, and recurring execution.
Connect source and target fields, add functions/filters and inspect intermediate values with debugger breakpoints. Execute a map to preview/save output; a database preview shows SQL commands, which the engine can separately run against the database. Tested mappings can generate execution files for MapForce Server automation. Edition choice matters: Basic handles XML-to-XML, Professional adds database/flat-file mapping, and Enterprise includes JSON, Excel, EDI, XBRL and Protobuf. The 2026r2 download page offers fully enabled 30-day evaluation licences delivered by email, followed by paid activation.
