What it does
ambientCG is a library of PBR surfaces, HDRIs, substances and models. Its downloadable asset files and preview renders are provided under CC0.
ambientCG offers PBR surfaces, environment lighting and other reusable 3D assets under CC0. Categories such as paving stones, fabrics, wood, rock and ground help locate a surface, while the asset-type filter distinguishes what a download actually contains.
A PBR material provides maps for a shader; a plain photo texture has no accompanying PBR maps. Atlases contain several individual objects in one material, and decals sit over another surface. The collection also includes equirectangular HDRIs, models, terrain and packaged Substance graphs for Substance Player or other compatible software. Those distinctions matter when selecting a resource for a particular part of a scene.
The downloadable files and their preview renders are covered by CC0. Commercial use, modification and redistribution are allowed, including shipping raw files within a game or another project. Credit is optional. Patron support adds benefits such as early access and browsing without ads; the public asset library remains free.
