What it does

Amboss Space is a Lightning Network explorer for finding nodes, channels and capacity trends. Its public tools decode Lightning invoices and addresses and convert between Bitcoin, satoshis and fiat values. A free account provides basic node visibility, while paid plans add monitoring, longer history and automation.

Look up a node or payment request

Use the explorer's search box to find a node or channel, then compare network changes across the Day, Week and Month views. The Lightning Decoder accepts BOLT11 invoices, LNURL requests and Lightning Addresses and turns their fields into readable information. The separate Sats Calculator converts between fiat, BTC and satoshis.

What changes with a paid plan?

Plan Main additions
Free Basic node visibility
Node Runner Email notifications and a custom node profile
Builder Webhooks, fee-distribution reports and up to three months of history
Operator Up to three years of history and commercial API use

A subscription that ends returns the account to the free tier and disables premium features. Amboss says it preserves the node data and profile.

Developers can query the Lightning graph through an API, a software interface for retrieving data. The linked API guide explains API-key creation and CSV or JSON exports through Apollo Explorer. Its older commercial-use wording differs from the current Operator plan, so commercial integrations should follow the current plan terms.

Magma is Amboss's separate channel-liquidity marketplace. A higher plan's marketplace priority does not guarantee a liquidity sale.

Strengths

  • Invoice decoder accepts BOLT11, LNURL and Lightning Addresses
  • Network views show capacity and channel changes over selectable periods
  • Developer guide describes CSV and JSON output

Watch out for

  • Longer history and automated notifications depend on the paid plan
  • Marketplace priority does not guarantee that a channel offer sells

Best for

  • Lightning operators checking public node activity
  • Developers inspecting Lightning payment requests or graph data
