What it does
Antenna House Formatter creates PDFs from XML, DITA, and HTML content styled with XSL-FO or CSS. It supports multilingual typesetting, mathematical content, cross-references, and production PDF outputs.
Use AHFCmd with a document, an XSL/CSS stylesheet and a named PDF output, or feed prepared XSL-FO through standard input. On non-Windows systems, the XML-to-XSL-FO route needs an external XSLT processor configured explicitly. Page ranges and two-pass formatting help with large publications and unresolved references. Check the edition and options before buying. The 90-day evaluation adds marks to every page, restricts several option outputs to the first page and prohibits production use.
Strengths
- Offers both XSL-FO and CSS publishing with detailed technical-document support.
Watch out for
- Some graphics and output formats require separately purchased options.
Best for
- Technical publishers generating long multilingual documents
