What it does
ANZ’s New Zealand personal service provides balance checks, transfers and payments through goMoney, internet banking and automated phone banking. The ANZ Go account has no monthly account fee or electronic transaction fee. Branch-assisted withdrawals have a separate charge, with age-based exemptions.
ANZ Go suits everyday payments made electronically. There is no monthly account fee, and electronic transactions through goMoney, internet banking, EFTPOS and ATMs have no ANZ transaction charge. The Visa Debit card has no annual fee. Overseas use and non-standard services can still cost extra.
Staff-assisted withdrawals cost NZ$3 each. This charge is waived when the primary account holder is under 21 or aged 65 or over, so the balance between digital and branch use matters when comparing costs.
Joining and accessing the account
Applicants aged 13 or over can begin with Join ANZ. After the application, ANZ contacts the applicant to arrange a branch visit to confirm identification. There is a separate route for people moving to New Zealand, including those who have not arrived yet. Existing customers can apply for another account through their digital banking access.
The goMoney app, internet banking and automated phone service cover routine checks, transfers between your accounts and payments. Phone access offers another way to manage those tasks when the app is inconvenient, while account-support routes handle questions that need a conversation. The New Zealand accounts are provided by ANZ Bank New Zealand Limited.
