What it does
Apple Books sells ebooks and audiobooks individually and includes reading goals, recommendations and progress synchronization on supported Apple devices.
Download a purchased title to a supported device when you want to read or listen offline. Apple Books has no required reading subscription, but store features depend on the country: Apple’s service matrix distinguishes public-domain-only access, book purchases and audiobook purchases. Check that matrix before expecting the US catalogue or buying options.
Strengths
- Offline reading and listening after download
- Progress synchronization across supported devices
Watch out for
- Book and audiobook purchasing features differ by country
