What it does
Hermann Wagenleitner’s Money Flow records income, expenses and account transfers, with customizable accounts and categories. It includes scheduled transactions, tags, images, geotagging and interactive reports.
Follow a tag from a budget into its entries
Create accounts and customize categories or subcategories. A transaction can include a payee, tag, location, comment and image. Budgets can limit a category or tag by day, week, month or year. In reports, a chart point or table row opens the transactions behind it.
Local use or a shared sync profile
Local functions work without a sync account. To synchronize, open Settings, Enable Synchronization and Create New Profile, then register with email and password. Other devices join by signing into that profile, including a family member’s device on a different Apple account. Every device signed into the profile can access its synchronized record.
CSV export uses UTF-8. If accented text looks wrong in a spreadsheet, import the file and select that encoding.
Strengths
- Budgets and reports can follow tags as well as categories
- Report rows and chart points open their underlying transactions
- CSV output with documented text-encoding guidance
Watch out for
- Shared devices use the same sync profile and can access its synchronized record
Best for
- Apple users keeping detailed personal transactions with supporting context
