What it does
Origami is packaging dieline software with an Adobe Illustrator plugin and an SVG-based vector-editor workflow. It previews folding, applies artwork on both sides, checks dielines and can export 3D models or self-contained interactive HTML previews.
Origami checks how a packaging dieline becomes a folded object. Its diagnostics highlight problems such as overlapping cut contours or a crease that is not straight, so the designer can correct the drawing and refresh the model. A 3D preview can still appear when errors remain, which makes the warning list part of the review.
Illustrator has a direct plugin. With Affinity Designer or another SVG editor, begin in Origami and export a File Package. Edit layout.svg for the structure, replace the artwork PNG, then refresh Origami. Keep the artwork proportions aligned with the dieline and hide the template before exporting the graphic. Separate back artwork and foil masks can be added through the same package.
Folding animation, interactive HTML and GLTF, OBJ or Collada export support further review and presentation. The demo is watermarked and excludes commercial use, 3D-format export and dieline-generator access. A paid licence keeps the purchased software version permanently, but updates, support and the online generator are included for one year and require renewal afterward.
