What it does
KCharSelect searches installed fonts for special characters and copies selected characters to the clipboard.
Choose an installed font in KCharSelect, then search by character name or browse a category and copy the selected characters to the clipboard. Aliases, notes and cross references help distinguish related symbols before reusing one. Unihan information adds English definitions and pronunciation guidance for East Asian characters. That context can be more useful than judging a glyph’s outline alone. The current KDE listing offers Linux downloads under GPL 2 or later; character display still depends on the selected font’s coverage.
