What it does

Apptica is a mobile market-intelligence platform covering app-store performance, advertising, usage and market trends. Teams can compare apps and publishers, inspect rankings and store metadata, and examine estimated downloads, revenue and advertising creatives. It requires an account; premium subscription access is arranged with the team.

Store Intelligence includes app comparisons, publisher rankings, software development kit information and ownership changes. Top Movers highlights changes in downloads and revenue; Hot Releases focuses on recently launched apps. These are useful for researching a competing publisher or a market category before planning a release.

For recurring comparisons, Custom Graph can save a preset containing the chosen apps, metrics and view settings. App Comparing includes daily, weekly and monthly active-user measures. In App Profiles, the country dropdown shows whether an app is still available in each market; historical data remains accessible after an app is removed. The New Apps area of Top Charts also has a release-date filter and a Reaching Top column.

Account and data limits

The sign-up form asks for contact and company details and a password; it does not require a credit card. Apptica offers a try-for-free route, and its team handles premium subscription options.

Apptica describes its market figures as outputs of a proprietary statistical model and does not guarantee their accuracy. They are estimates for comparing the wider app market, rather than the transaction or event records from your own app.

Strengths

  • Combines app and publisher comparisons with store, advertising and market information.
  • Saved graph presets retain app selections, metrics and display settings.

Watch out for

  • Modeled market figures are not guaranteed to match an app's actual performance.

Best for

  • Mobile publishers researching competing apps and category trends
  • Agencies following app launches, ownership changes and advertising activity
