What it does
Archivio Luce provides searchable film and photographic archives documenting Italian history. Its holdings include newsreels, documentaries, unedited footage and named photographic collections, with research and supply assistance for new projects.
Open Ricerca Avanzata to choose the photographic or film archive. Search separately by title, description, subject, place or person, and set a date range. Film controls also include sound, shot type, series, director and production.
Photo records carry a reference code and the original material’s details. “Vecchia Porta Cavour”, for example, is dated 1900 to 1915 in Ancona and identifies glass-negative material, a 13 × 18 format and photo code L00002867. These are archive-object details, not specifications for a delivered digital file.
For material supply, contact the research and sales team with the references and intended project. It helps select footage and photographs for documentaries, exhibitions and company histories, with commercial arrangements agreed for the intended reuse.
