What it does

AssociationVoting prepares ballots for board elections, propositions and member approvals. Organizers can apply common selection rules or set them for each position, with skipped questions and explicit abstentions counted separately. Access includes per-election pricing and an annual subscription for one association.

In Voting Manager, open Ballot → Settings → Selection, Abstain & Skip Rule. Choose uniform rules or rules set per position, then Save Settings. For an individual position, open Ballot → Positions, edit it and set Minimum Selection and Selection Limit to the same number when an exact count is required. Save with Update Position.

A minimum of zero permits a skipped question. For explicit abstention, set the minimum to one and enable Allow Abstains. Results → Vote Counts displays abstained and skipped totals separately. This keeps an unanswered item distinct from a deliberate abstention.

Under a position's Candidates, edit the candidate and choose Biography Mode. Show the biography within the ballot or provide an external biography URL, then save with Update Candidate.

Election access

Choose a single election or an annual subscription.

The annual subscription permits unlimited non-concurrent elections for one association over twelve months. Standard ballots cover up to 25 distinct candidates and eight positions or propositions; more complex ballots and optional services can cost extra. Start through the organization's election-request form; the provider follows up with configuration and billing details.

Strengths

  • Results distinguish skipped questions from explicit abstentions
  • Selection requirements can be uniform or set for each position

Watch out for

  • The annual subscription covers non-concurrent elections for one association
  • Standard ballot scope is limited to 25 candidates and eight positions or propositions

Best for

  • Associations that need explicit abstentions and position-specific voting requirements
