What it does
AstroPay is a personal wallet for holding currencies, transferring funds and paying online or with an available AstroCard. It has a free Base tier and an optional Infinite membership. Accounts and features follow regional terms, including separate arrangements for Argentina, Brazil, Peru, the UK and the European Economic Area.
Start by registering an account and completing the identity and age checks. AstroPay requires adults aged 18 or over under its general individual terms, and the available services depend on where you live. A currency shown on the website does not establish eligibility for every associated account or card.
To move money to your bank in another country, open the app and choose Withdraw, then Bank account. Select the destination and its available local method, enter the bank details and amount, and review the charge before confirming. Follow the request in Transaction History. AstroPay gives a typical processing range of a few minutes to 72 business hours for this route, depending on the country and method.
Base and Infinite
Base has no monthly plan fee. Transfer and conversion charges can still apply, with the transaction fee shown before authorization.
Infinite adds preferential currency-exchange terms and other membership benefits. The Argentina offer is USD 11.99 per month, or its local-currency equivalent, and is restricted to eligible Argentine residents. It renews automatically every 30 days. You can cancel in the app and retain benefits through the period already paid for. Check the offer for your own country instead of assuming the Argentine membership applies everywhere.
Strengths
- Infinite subscribers get priority support.
- Argentine Infinite members can redeem AstroPoints for USD wallet balance.
Watch out for
- International bank withdrawals must go to an account in your own name.
- Withdrawal limits vary with verification level and destination, and not every country is supported.
- AstroPay says its UK and Isle of Man electronic-money balances are not covered by their respective deposit compensation schemes.
Best for
- People receiving and spending money in more than one currency
- Eligible residents moving wallet funds to their own overseas bank accounts
