What it does

Authorize.net offers merchant card and eCheck collection, digital invoices, recurring billing and virtual-terminal tools. Businesses based in the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe or Australia can apply and accept customers internationally. Access uses a paid gateway account, with processing supplied through Authorize.net or a separate provider.

In the New Merchant Interface 2.0, open Payments, Invoicing and + Create Invoice. Enter the invoice number, due date, currency, customer name and email, then add the items, quantities and prices. Add shipping, discounts or taxes when needed, and choose whether to allow partial payment.

Send Invoice emails the request; Save as Draft keeps it for later without notifying the customer. The invoice list separates unpaid, partially paid, paid, canceled and overdue records. Search by invoice number or sort by status to follow up on the correct balance.

Virtual Terminal instead handles staff-entered phone orders. Recurring Payments manages scheduled charges, while Account Updater maintains stored card details between purchases.

Published US pricing

Arrangement Monthly gateway fee Additional published charges

The eCheck schedule also has a $10 monthly processing minimum, a $3 returned-item fee and a $25 chargeback fee. Account Updater costs $0.25 per update. Check the full merchant agreement, including any separate processor's terms and settlement schedule, before choosing the account arrangement.
