What it does

AutoCount connects general ledger, receivables and payables with inventory, sales and purchasing, with desktop and cloud accounting options. Its Malaysian cloud service requires an account and offers a trial governed by transaction allowances, followed by paid subscriptions.

Moving an existing customer or product list into AutoCount Cloud Accounting is a useful first task. Under Master Data, open the relevant list and choose Import Data. Download its Excel template, fill the Template sheet using the accompanying Guide, then select the completed file and review the preview before importing. The import can create records or update existing ones. For a name-only product update, keep ProductCode and ProductName and remove the other columns, so unrelated details stay untouched.

The wider AutoCount family connects billing and stock movements with the ledger. Desktop modules cover projects, departments, serial numbers and units of measure; retailers can also connect its POS products. Choose the accounting edition and POS package together, since these are distinct products.

Cloud subscriptions

Regular monthly prices are in Malaysian ringgit, excluding SST:

Plan Monthly price Included users
Lite RM70 1 plus an accountant
Basic RM100 2 plus an accountant
Plus RM140 3 plus an accountant
Pro RM180 3 plus an accountant
Accountant RM10 2

The cloud trial needs no card. Sales transactions are unlimited, while purchases, stock and accounting each have a 60-transaction allowance within a calendar year; reaching any module's cap ends the trial. It is not advertised as a fixed number of trial days.

Cloud bank feeds support Maybank and UOB. Sending payments from payment vouchers is limited to UOB; other banks can be handled through PDF or CSV imports. Registration asks for your email, name, mobile number and password.

Strengths

  • Excel imports can update selected fields without replacing the rest of a record.
  • Desktop accounting can connect stock, billing and POS operations.
  • Cloud access includes separate accountant seats on the four business plans.

Watch out for

  • Cloud trial access ends when a capped module reaches its transaction allowance.
  • Direct cloud bank feeds cover Maybank and UOB; voucher payments require UOB.

Best for

  • Malaysian businesses moving customer and product records into cloud accounting
  • Retailers choosing connected accounting and POS products
