What it does
Autopsy is an open-source digital-forensics platform for examining storage evidence, with optional support, training and modules.
Autopsy is intended for an investigator who needs a structured hard-drive examination rather than a general file browser. Its official page presents the core platform as free and open source, while training, support and custom work are separate offerings. Plan the evidence source and case organization before loading material. Maintain the original evidence independently of the analysis workspace. Cyber Triage is another product from the same team; its trial does not define the access terms of Autopsy.
