Avibase provides bird-name search, taxonomic comparisons, regional checklists and distribution information.
Search a bird name or browse by family, then compare the relevant taxonomic treatment. The site offers regional checklists under multiple taxonomies, so choose the treatment before comparing two lists. Its language synonyms help connect alternate names. Printed checklist options are useful when you want a field reference for a particular region.
MyAvibase adds personal lifelists; those account features are separate from the public lookup.
