What it does
Azhagi provides Indic typing and transliteration utilities, with configurable mappings, language-switch hotkeys and Tamil font-encoding conversion.
In Azhagi+ for Windows, start with a documented phonetic mapping, switch the language with its hotkey and type into the destination application. The examples include Ctrl+1 for Hindi, Ctrl+5 for Malayalam and Ctrl+9 for Bengali. Key mappings and switching hotkeys can be changed. For older Tamil material, the font-encoding converter handles a separate task from entering new Unicode text; the language, font and keyboard combinations can also be extended. Personal and commercial use are free. The portable and setup editions have the same functions, so choose one; the separately listed Mac and Azhagi++ branches have their own features.
