What it does
Banktivity brings household accounts, envelope budgets and financial reports to Mac, iPhone and iPad. Bank connections are optional, and one subscription covers all three devices. New customers can try it for 30 days; continuing to add or edit financial records requires a paid plan.
Banktivity brings a household’s accounts into one financial picture. Its envelope budgets assign the money you already have to purposes such as groceries or a future holiday. Those envelopes describe what money is for, independently of which bank account holds it. A card purchase then reduces the relevant category’s available amount.
Build the account history
On Mac, choose the toolbar’s plus button and Add Account. You can connect an institution or select the manual option, enter an account name and type, then set its opening balance and date. For supported bank downloads, choose the institution and available connection method, sign in to your Banktivity user account when prompted, authorize the bank connection and select the accounts to import. A missing institution can still be handled through manual entries or statement downloads.
Imported records remain editable. The connection status shows the last update, and its options let you disconnect an account and continue recording it manually. These controls help distinguish a delayed feed from a change in the actual bank balance.
Plans and continued access
The published US dollar prices below are monthly rates labelled as billed annually, excluding tax. The first 30 days are free for new customers, with no credit card needed for the download trial.
| Plan | Published rate | Main difference |
|---|---|---|
| Bronze | US$6.99 per month, billed annually | Bank and card accounts, budgets and goals |
| Silver | US$8.99 per month, billed annually | Adds investment reports, stock prices and real estate tracking |
| Gold | US$10.99 per month, billed annually | Adds accounts in different currencies, exchange rates and check printing |
When a subscription ends, existing data remains available to view and export. Adding accounts or transactions and editing records requires an active subscription.
