What it does

Base.com centralises products, marketplace offers, orders, warehouse tasks and shipping. Its automation connects events and conditions with actions such as status changes, document creation, customer updates and label printing.

Marking an order as packed can trigger its shipping label and invoice in Base.com. The Pick&Pack Assistant uses barcode scans to guide preparation, flags mismatches and can capture a photo of the packed parcel. Custom events can also start from a button or keyboard shortcut.

Build an automatic action

Open Orders/Products > Automatic actions and choose +Add automatic action. Pick the event, add any conditions, select the actions and Save. New rules apply to future matching events; they do not run retroactively.

Use the order card to inspect action history. Where available, Stop after failure prevents later steps from running after a failed action. For example, an invoice error need not be followed by an email expecting that invoice. An Action after failure can trigger a custom event for follow-up.

Capacity and access

Plan Capacity and operating limits
Freemium 100 orders/month; 1,000 products; 3 team profiles; hourly sync; 6-month retention
Business Paid order-based capacity; unlimited products and team profiles; real-time sync; 24-month retention
Enterprise Individual commercial offer, infrastructure and retention arrangements

Volumes across a business's accounts are combined for Enterprise eligibility. Qualifying businesses must move to that plan. The published plan-change policy allows upgrades and does not offer downward moves.

Registration requires an email, password and company details. Confirm the email link to log in. The US registration route advertises a 14-day full-access trial; the ongoing Freemium tier has its own limits.

Strengths

  • Events and conditions can connect several routine order tasks
  • Action history and failure controls help investigate interrupted workflows

Watch out for

  • Automatic actions do not process earlier matching events
  • Freemium has hourly synchronization and six-month data retention

Best for

  • Multichannel merchants connecting listing, order and packing operations with repeatable rules
