What it does

BECU provides business checking and mobile banking for organizations within its US membership field. The correct digital channel depends on the business’s tax identifier, with separate routes for EIN and SSN accounts. Business checking has no monthly maintenance fee, but counted transactions above the allowance cost extra.

Choose the right business channel

The app depends on whether the business reports tax using an employer identification number (EIN) or an owner's Social Security number (SSN). Corporations, partnerships and EIN-based LLCs use Business Online Banking; sole proprietors and SSN-based LLCs use the regular BECU app.

EIN enrollment is a request process that can take up to two business days. SSN businesses enroll through a browser, with the first enrolling signer becoming the Business Administrator.

For an EIN account's mobile check deposit, endorse the check with the required BECU mobile-deposit wording, then open Menu > Services > Mobile Deposit. Choose the account, enter the amount, photograph both sides and review before Submit Deposit. The SSN app instead starts at Deposits > Deposit Check.

What business checking costs

Both Business Basic Checking and Business Interest Checking have no monthly maintenance fee. For combined balances below USD 25,000, Basic includes 350 counted transactions per month and Interest includes 200; additional counted items cost USD 0.20 each. The allowance rises for larger combined relationships.

Electronic debits and credits, including debit-card purchases, transfers and bill payments, have no per-item threshold charge. This is different from counting every movement of money toward the monthly allowance. Online or ATM deposits count as one deposited item per deposit transaction.

Joining BECU

Membership covers qualifying businesses in Washington and listed counties in Oregon and Idaho, as well as eligible occupational or association connections. Internet gambling, marijuana dispensaries and money-services businesses are excluded.

Prepare identification and contact details for authorized signers, the business tax ID, state registry or UBI number, and industry classification code. Apply online or arrange an appointment. A Business Member Share Savings account must be opened and maintained to establish membership.
