What it does

beehiiv combines newsletter writing, email delivery and a publication website in one account. Free supports up to 2,500 subscribers and unlimited email sends. A 14-day Pro trial is available without a card, with limits on daily posts, external tests and some paid features.

A post can be sent by email, published on the web or both. Review its Audience, Email and Web settings together when preparing an issue. A newsletter missing from the website may have been sent as email-only, while a disabled Dynamic Post page can prevent the web version from appearing.

Scheduling uses the browser or computer's timezone, shown in the scheduling control. The publication's default timezone changes date display in sent emails instead. A selected audience with no active subscribers at the scheduled time returns the post to draft without a notification, so audience readiness belongs in the final check.

Paid prices depend on both the plan and subscriber tier. The October 2026 choices are:

Plan Audience and team scope Main distinction
Free Up to 2,500 subscribers Unlimited email sends and core publishing tools
Lite Up to 100,000 subscribers; 2 seats and 3 publications Automations and monetization tools
Pro Up to 250,000 subscribers; 10 seats and 10 publications More analytics, dynamic content and removal of branding
Enterprise Custom agreement Additional security, support and infrastructure

Existing customers move to the new terms at their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026; annual customers keep their current price through their term.

Creating an account also gives the option of a 14-day Pro trial without a card. During that trial, you can publish one post per day and test emails to yourself, but external test sends require a paid plan. If you do not upgrade, the account stays Free and trial-only features turn off, while your content and subscribers remain.

Strengths

  • Web publication and email delivery can be selected separately
  • Free supports a continuing newsletter with unlimited sends within its audience cap

Watch out for

  • An empty active audience can return a scheduled post to draft without notification
  • Scheduling follows the browser timezone rather than the publication date-display setting

Best for

  • Newsletter publishers managing email issues and their web publication together
