What it does
BeerSmith provides brewing recipe software with desktop and browser workflows for beer, mead, wine and cider.
BeerSmith 4 starts with an equipment profile and ingredients, then calculates recipe values and prints a step-by-step brew sheet. Water, mash-pH, yeast and hop tools support beer, mead, wine and cider. The current download information lists Windows, Mac and Ubuntu builds with a 30-day trial. Basic is a non-subscription desktop licence without the web editor; Gold/Platinum/Pro subscriptions include web access and updates. Native Android/iPhone apps are separate purchases. Version 4 uses a separate SQL database from Version 3, and the release guide recommends selectively importing recipes/equipment rather than overwriting updated ingredients/profiles with old data. Web recipes appear in the desktop Cloud folder, while exact feature parity across releases remains version-specific.
