What it does
Bendigo Bank’s Everyday Account combines app, online, phone and branch access without a monthly account fee. A linked Debit Mastercard supports everyday purchases, while selected branch-assisted and international transactions cost extra. The bank also provides separate business and agricultural services.
Bendigo’s channel choice is useful when a household sometimes needs a person and sometimes only needs a balance or payment. The Everyday Account has no monthly charge. Domestic retail purchases, Bendigo ATM withdrawals and e-banking transfers are free, but staff-assisted branch transactions cost A$2.50 each. International fees also apply.
New customers apply in the app with personal details, a driver’s licence or Australian passport, and a selfie. The advertised route is for Australian citizens or permanent residents aged 16 or over. Existing customers can open an account after logging in. Joint accounts require a branch appointment.
For a branch visit, the account-opening guide lists a broader set of identification combinations, including primary photo ID or a permitted combination of non-photo and secondary documents. It also explains the separate records required for businesses, trusts and associations.
The support hub links to daily-limit changes, e-statements, card activation and lost-card reporting. It also provides routes for resetting access, managing regular payments and seeking help with financial difficulty. These are useful starting points when the task goes beyond checking a balance.
