What it does
bftpd is a configurable FTP server intended for desktops, servers and constrained devices, including read-only filesystem setups.
bftpd is a small FTP server for Unix-like systems, including embedded devices and read-only filesystem setups. Its documentation uses global settings with user or directory overrides, so an operator can set the served root, constrain access with chroot and disable commands such as deletion for selected users. It describes password/PAM authentication and optional anonymous access. Those controls suit a limited FTP endpoint, but the published tutorial and reference are legacy material. Check the installed package’s configuration and client protocol requirements; these sources do not establish SFTP or a current TLS setup.
Strengths
