What it does

BigCommerce provides storefront design, product catalogues, checkout and connected selling channels. Its wider B2B tools support account-specific pricing, quotes, reorders and invoice payments. Account signup starts a 15-day trial without a card; ongoing store access requires a paid plan.

BigCommerce covers product variants, bundles and configurations, with B2B capabilities for account-specific prices, quotes, reorders and invoice payments. A wholesaler can evaluate one repeat order against the buyer's permitted products, prices and payment process. Confirm the required B2B package when arranging that implementation.

The page builder, themes and integrations support the storefront, while APIs provide a route for custom buying logic.

Subscription and sales volume

Standard prices are in USD, excluding tax:

Plan Monthly billing Monthly equivalent, billed annually
Core USD 39 USD 29
Growth USD 105 USD 79
Scale USD 399 USD 299
Performance Custom From USD 1,499

Core and Growth can upgrade automatically as trailing twelve-month sales rise. BigCommerce calculates its Inclusive GMV measure from gross order value after a 10% reduction; taxes and shipping are included in the eligible value. Core's threshold is USD 30,000 and Growth's is USD 100,000.

Scale includes USD 33,333 of that measure per month, then charges 0.9% on the excess. Open Payment Provider Fees are another charge: eligible orders incur 2% on Core, 1% on Growth or 0.6% on Scale, separately from the processor's fees. Orders using Embedded Payment Providers avoid that platform fee.

Start the trial

Registration asks for a name, email, password, store name, business size and hosting region; the phone number is optional. The trial lasts 15 days without a card. The current registration notice restricts trial stores to offline or test payments, with a paid plan required for live payment processing.

If the trial ends without an upgrade, customers lose access to the store. Its data is retained for 90 days before deletion. Choose the plan around both the buying workflow and the sales-volume calculation, particularly for seasonal businesses.

Strengths

  • Catalogue capabilities cover variants, bundles and configurations
  • B2B capabilities support quotes, reorders and account-specific buying terms

Watch out for

  • Sales-volume thresholds can trigger upgrades or additional charges
  • Open Payment Provider Fees can apply in addition to processor charges
  • Current trial registration restricts live payment processing

Best for

  • Retailers and wholesalers with structured catalogues or B2B purchasing needs
