What it does

BigMailer organizes marketing, automation and transactional email around brands or sub-accounts. Each brand has its own lists and unsubscribe page, while the platform provides segmentation, reporting, RSS campaigns and options for a connected Amazon SES account. Free Startup accounts need a separate Amazon SES connection.

Each BigMailer brand has its own lists and unsubscribe page. It can represent a client, a location or a product within one company. Contacts are counted separately within each brand, so the same address in two clients' brands contributes to both totals.

The platform tour describes connecting several Amazon SES accounts or regions and selecting a connection for each brand. Reporting by email domain adds another useful view when investigating campaign differences. A team can therefore inspect a client's results separately from the other brands.

Startup and Business Lite require the customer's SES connection and its separate sending costs. Other delivery arrangements require account review, and sender-domain verification is needed. Paid plans include monthly sends equal to ten times their contact allowance; extra sends and users cost more. BigMailer excludes cold outreach and purchased lists, so the audience must fit its permission-based use rather than a prospecting workflow.

All new accounts start on Startup, which includes BigMailer branding. The free offer has no time limit. Registration asks for an email, password and company or organization name.

Strengths

  • Brand boundaries separate client lists and unsubscribe experiences
  • Multiple SES connections can be assigned to different brands

Watch out for

  • Startup and Business Lite require separately billed Amazon SES access
  • Sending and users above the plan allowance add cost
  • Cold outreach and purchased-list campaigns are outside permitted use

Best for

  • Agencies running permission-based email for distinct client brands
