What it does
Billtrust is an accounts receivable platform for businesses collecting payment from other businesses. It delivers invoices through customer portals, email and other channels, helps staff resolve failed deliveries, and matches incoming payments to invoices. Access is arranged with Billtrust, with pricing tailored to the modules, transaction volume and service level required.
Find the invoices customers never received
Billtrust brings invoice delivery and cash application into a connected receivables workflow. Invoice channels include email, buyer payment portals, customer accounts payable portals, and printing and mailing. Teams can track delivery and customer activity without treating every channel as a separate inbox.
The Email Exception Assistant gives failed invoice emails a practical follow-up path. It ranks undelivered invoices by open balance and suggests alternative contacts based on earlier successful deliveries. Staff see a confidence score and explanation, then approve a resend or configure a rule for future failures. Each failure and action is recorded; automatic rerouting runs only when configured.
Control how payments are matched
Cash application matches payments with invoices and accounts. Staff can adjust the matching confidence threshold to change which exceptions require manual follow-up. Analytics identify customers whose payments frequently need intervention, giving the team a specific place to investigate recurring reconciliation work.
ERP connections can use an existing connector or a custom integration, including setups with several ERP instances. The Platform API also supports importing accounts and documents and exporting remittance data.
Choose the delivery services you need
Billtrust's invoicing subscription includes 10 Client Connect or Supplier user seats, with additional seats available to purchase. Printing and accounts payable portal delivery are invoicing subscription add-ons. Include those channels in the scope when requesting a proposal.
A demonstration and commercial discussion are the starting point. Pricing takes account of module usage, transaction volume and service requirements, so a useful evaluation should follow a bounced invoice and an unmatched payment through the proposed setup.
