What it does
Bitcoin Well sends purchased Bitcoin directly to a personal on-chain or Lightning wallet. Its Canadian portal supports Interac e-transfer and cash-voucher routes with different verification and pricing. Selling sends Canadian dollars to a bank account; separate services operate in the US.
A recurring purchase can start at the bank. Set up a recurring Interac e-transfer to Bitcoin Well, and each received payment triggers delivery to the wallet configured in the portal. This avoids keeping the purchased Bitcoin in an exchange account, but requires the customer to protect the wallet and its recovery details.
For the Canadian online portal, the published verified-account spread is 1.5% to buy and 2.0% to sell. Lite Accounts use cash vouchers and a 4.0% spread in either direction. Those rates do not apply to Bitcoin ATMs or the Infinite OTC service. A free account is therefore different from a free purchase.
The verified route requires phone details and identity checks. A Lite Account initially asks for an email address, although the service terms still allow further verification requests. Canadian service users must reside in Canada, be physically present in a supported province or territory and meet the local age of majority.
The website also offers Bitcoin bill payments and a cash ATM locator. Select the country and transaction route before comparing costs. Bitcoin transfers are final once sent, and wallet delivery does not protect against a fall in Bitcoin's price.
