What it does
Bitmovin VOD Encoder produces video-on-demand renditions across supported codecs, file formats, and streaming outputs. It offers per-title bitrate ladders, multipass processing, subtitles, HDR conversions, and several job-creation routes.
Define accessible source storage, codec streams and output destinations, then start an encoding through the dashboard or API. The documented VOD example connects a MOV input to an H.264 per-title template and fragmented-MP4 output path with private permissions and 4-second segments. Per-title analysis builds a ladder around each video's complexity. Managed Cloud runs Bitmovin's infrastructure; Cloud Connect uses the customer's cloud resources. Billing counts each output with resolution, codec and pass factors, in 10-second increments, including completed work before cancellation or customer-caused failure. Storage/CDN costs are separate. The current product page labels Encoder Version 3 beta, so its new features and announced pricing changes need the relevant release/customer scope.
